2018 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid – Fuel Efficiency, Interior and Engine Specs

Cadillac Escalade is one of the best-selling SUVs as it combines a unique design with promising performance and comfort. Now, the company is planning a 2018 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid to cope up with market demands.

It’s just the plug-in hybrid drivetrain that will be different. 2018 Escalade HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) will bring forth the same balance of sophistication, functionality and technology. In simple words, 2018 Escalade HEV will have a powerful performance besides being low on CO2 emissions and excelling on fuel efficiency.

While being innovative on drivetrain, 2018 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid will wear the iconic look of its predecessor. Cadillac Escalade stands out from the crowd with its distinctive styling that is characterized by great planes and dramatic angles.

As speculated by experts, 2018 Escalade HEV will not feature significant changes as the installation of a plug-in hybrid drivetrain will add up the cost. However, expect upscale refinements on exterior parts like front fascia and side sills on subtle levels.

The Advanced Lighting on front headlamps might receive some improvements along with the light-blade taillights. Like the current generation model, 2018 Escalade HEV will come with 22-inch premium painted aluminum alloy wheels.

Buyers will get the options for choosing among different color options which include Dark Granite Metallic, Red Passion Tintcoat, Crystal White Tricoat, Dark Adriatic Blue Metallic, Silver Coast Metallic, Bronze Dune Metallic, Black Raven and Radiant Silver Metallic.

2018 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid – Interior

The interior cabin of Cadillac Escalade SUVs is an actual example of modern sophistication. This is because the cabin incorporates hand-finished design touches and cut-and-sewn stitching. 2018 Plug-In Hybrid Escalade’s cabin will feature some improvements on this.

Luxury features in the seats like power reclining, heating/cooling and massaging will be retained. The current model incorporates a 16-speaker BOSE® Centerpoint® surround system which will be featured in this new Cadillac HEV as well.

Other than this, the rest of the cabin should remain pretty much the same. Some assumptions hold that the driver’s gauge cluster will be reworked for improvements on functionality. Safety features like rear/front park assist, blind spot warning, rearview camera, blind spot assist and tire pressure monitoring will receive technical enhancements.

Powertrain

Like most plug-in HEVs, this new 2018 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid will use a conventional gasoline engine that will work with a 60kW electric motor. This engine is said to use a lithium-ion battery pack instead of the nickel-metal-hybride.

Experts have predicted that combined outputs of the gasoline engine and electric motor will surpass 379 HP. This might be possible with the use of a 9-speed automatic transmission system. The mileage figures of this upcoming 2018 Escalade HEV is likely to surpass the old 20/23 mpg in city and highway respectively.

Price and Release Date

The new 2018 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is expected to come with a starting price of $65,000. There’s no word on official availability of this vehicle but expect it to come out during the last quarters of 2017 or probably early 2018.
